The camel trek is easy and suitable for most travelers. A 4×4 transfer to/from the dunes is possible if preferred.

Where will we stay in the desert?

You’ll stay in a Moroccan desert camp with traditional Berber tents and shared or private facilities depending on booking.

Breakfast is included daily. Dinner is included on the first and second nights.

Is this suitable for families/children?

Day 01 :

Marrakech → Atlas Mountains → Ait Ben Haddou → Dades Valley

Your desert adventure begins with pickup from your Marrakech hotel or riad in the morning. Travel across the High Atlas Mountains via the scenic Tizi n’Tichka Pass, stopping for photos along the way.

You’ll arrive at the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a historic fortified village seen in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones. Enjoy time to explore before continuing to Ouarzazate (“The Hollywood of Africa”). Then drive through the famous Dades Valley, known for its beautiful gorges and landscapes.

Dinner and overnight stay are in a hotel or riad in the Dades Valley.

Day 02 :

Dades Valley → Todra Gorge → Merzouga Desert (Erg Chebbi)

After breakfast, depart Dades Valley and head to the breathtaking Todra Gorge, where narrow canyon walls rise high above. Enjoy a walk along the river and take in the dramatic scenery.

Continue through desert towns and palm groves until you reach Merzouga, the gateway to the Sahara Desert. At the edge of the golden Erg Chebbi dunes, swap your vehicle for camels and enjoy a scenic camel trek at sunset. Experience the dunes’ changing colors and reach your desert camp.

Dinner and an overnight stay in the camp with Berber music and local traditions under the stars.

Day 03 :

Merzouga Desert Sunrise → Ziz Valley → Return to Marrakech

Wake up early to watch the sunrise over the dunes, a magical moment worth the early start. After breakfast, mount your camel or ride back to Merzouga town.

Depart the desert and head through Rissani (ancient trading town of the Alaouite dynasty), then continue through the palm-lined Ziz Valley with scenic views and traditional agricultural landscapes.

You will return to Marrakech in the evening, where the tour concludes with drop-off at your hotel or riad.
